My name is Chas Guidry. I recently graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication. I entered the mass comm. department with the “silly” goal of one day becoming a video game journalist.
I love video games and understand that the medium is capable of so much more than most people give it. I’m not deluded enough to think I’ll make a fortune writing about video games, but I think I’ll be perfectly content doing so, and that’s something you can’t buy.
The problem with my goal is, I’m not so sure video game journalism really exists. Majority of what we read is more along the lines of enthusiast press, but if you search long enough, you can find glimmers of hope here and there.
I plan to make that search a little easier by covering the video game medium and industry in a way that matters to everyone, all the while applying the journalistic ethics and mechanics I studied in college.
I hope you enjoy my writing and that you will join in the discussion by leaving a comment whenever you feel you have something to add to the conversation. Also, feel free to e-mail me any questions or concerns. I’d love to hear from anyone who shares a similar passion for video games or is just interested in learning more.
See you around the blog.
